Mercedes-Benz’s most powerful and sporty SL ever is here, rolling out from Daimler. The 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series, is the Merc’s most hardcore Roadster ever in the market. The SL 65 promises supercar performance, with its large quantities of power and lighter curb weight. The new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series, a high-performance coupe is an example of a superbly crafted motorsport engineering, this Roadster is extremely mean looking with its sleek and lustrous design. In the autooutlet world the SL 65 is a ridiculously fast Roadster, this is possible because of the AMG engineers have crafted this beauty by removing some serious weight out of it. The coupe’s folding hardtop is replaced with a fixed roof and the front splitter, hood, trunklid, and rear spoiler are all made of carbon fiber to further trim weight. With all these adjustments the SL 65 has a curb weight of just around 4000 lbs.

The look of the SL 65 is superlative dynamism and is capable to arouse great passions. The SL65 Black monster runs an upgraded twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine, which is easily capable of producing 661 hp at 5,400 rpm and 738 lb.-ft of torque. For this beauty Mercedes engineers were able to pump out an extra 57 horsepower from the car’s twin-turbo 6.0L V12, which in result produces a total output to a monstrous 661 horsepower. Power is delivered through Mercedes’ five-speed automatic transmission, which is the fastest and allows the smooth gear shifts in as little as 250 milliseconds. As with the car’s suspension, the automatic transmission has two different sport settings. The overall power of the roadster limits the car to surpass 0 to 60 acceleration in just than 4 seconds. The new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series has a practical speed of 220mph (354 km/h) although to be on safer side, the production version of the new SL has been restricted 186 mph (299 km/h).

To complete the performance package, the SL Black Series is been equipped with a new adjustable suspension, a wider track, larger brakes, a deployable rear spoiler and a lower hood. Inside the SL Black Series, the car features carbon fiber shell racing seats, a flat bottom steering wheel and plenty of Alcantara. The SL’s back seat has also been removed to save weight.

The SL65 AMG Black Series is expected to hit the market next year. With a price tag of $300,000.
